Trail Update/Fun Race/Work Day Video

Who woulda thunk it possible but Mink Creek is about to ‘softly’ open this weekend. Bring rock skis and City services may be limited such as rentals, lessons, etc.

Thanks to Lance Clark and staff for moving quickly to open things up. Also, thanks to Dave Roy and Dustin Murray for transporting the Sherpa Mondya plus Dave rolled the trails.  Snow will be thin so please ski w/ caution. Check POKYXC.ORG for trail updates.

I still haven’t figured out the Fun Race schedule yet except for the first one which will be a 5K classic Wednesday December 9th. Turkish dinner is the suggested theme (not leftover Turkey). We’ll shoot to race around 4:30. Even if you can’t make the race please join us for dinner and celebrate an early start to winter. On the subject of racing: racing is optional. My only goal is for people to ski/tour/snowshoe at whatever pace feels good on a Wednesday night. This will be our earliest Fun Race in my somewhat limited memory.

PLEASE consider sending in your PXCSF membership. We are a shoe-sting operations of volunteers funded by donations, fundraising and your membership fees.

Thanks, Randy

Here is a Todd Nunan video from one of the workdays which gives an idea of the work the City and volunteers put into improving the trails this year. If it’s a low snow year I think we’ll have more options up the West side.
